Mike Andrews
Delivery Manager
To his role as Delivery Manager, Mike brings over 30 years of experience to the task of supporting Dowling’s programme of IT and Shared Services business transformation projects. He has extensive hands-on experience with IT management within service, manufacturing and supply chain organisations, is SAP Certified in Advanced Planning and Optimisation and also Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) and holds CSCP (Certified Supply Chain Professional) by the American Production and Inventory Control Society (APICS). He has presented papers at the 2004, 2006 and 2008 International APICS Conferences, at the 2007 SMART Supply Chain Conference as well as several other public conferences including the 2010 Agile Organisations Conference which he also chaired. In 2011 Mike presented a paper at the Shared Services and Outsourcing Conference in Melbourne.
Over the last five years, Mike has successfully completed numerous projects including:
- A Customer Service improvement initiative for a major financial services company. This project involved conducting customer and staff interviews to identify service issues, and facilitating a series of workshops to identify solutions and to create a roadmap for improvement.
- A Business Transformation project for a major international metals manufacturer. This project involved a cross-divisional function and process review including organisational fit and identification of opportunities for major savings across the corporation. It identified cost reduction opportunities of 10% to 20% in most divisions and has resulted in a major change program that is ongoing currently.
- Creation of an HR Shared Services Catalogue for the Victorian Department of Education and Early Childhood Development. This innovative project adapted IT Service Catalogue principles to build a catalogue of shared HR and Payroll services that will be used to extend DEECD’s HR services to other Victorian Government departments.
As Delivery Manager, Mike applies his long experience in project and practice management to oversight of the Dowling programme of work, including customer satisfaction, resource planning and management, project health and issue management, and financial management. His goal is to ensure that Dowling’s record of project success and customer satisfaction continues and is further enhanced in the future.
